DONORS
The Fund’s busy period started in November 1997. It was preceded by the initiative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) which announced a tender in 1996 to launch and fulfill micro lending project in Kazakhstan. American non-government organization ACDI/VOCA won this tender and became the Founder of the Fund.
The first grants to start financial activity were disbursed by USAID and Soros Foundation. Subsequently, due to its successful activity, the Fund attracted grants from other donors, such as the Eurasia Foundation, United States Department of Agriculture, the Hivos Foundation (the Netherlands), New Hampshire Episcopal Eparchy.
Besides grants the Fund also got commercial loans from Micro credit Fund Dexia (Luxemburg), the Hivos Foundation (the Netherlands) and Kazakommertzbank (Kazakhstan).
