On June 23, in Kokshatau the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a seminar to improve state support mechanisms and microlending industry development.

Association of Microfinancial Organizations of Kazakhstan (AMFOK) and magazine “Small and Medium business in Kazakhstan” also took part in it. There were also representatives from the Ministry for Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Parliament, regional microcredit organizations and entrepreneurs. Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Microfinancial Organizations of Kazakhstan (AMFOK) Mr. Zhussupov Shalkar portrayed history of origin of microlending, international experience of microlending development, and spoke about current challenges of microlending sector in the Republic, as well as answered questions of the participants of the round table. AMFOK Director Mrs. Igenbekova Saltanat presented main Association working course. She also highlighted such achievements as improving legislation, participation in international projects, research of regional MFIs etc. entrepreneurs got interested in microlending conditions, MCO wanted to know sector development perspectives, changes in legislation. Participants got answers to all questions. Speeches made by AMFOK representatives aroused great interest to the information provided, as well as openness and availability. Microcredit organizations were ready to cooperate with AMFOK. State bodies’ representatives – Ministry for Industry and Trade, Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – expressed their readiness to support development of microlending sector in the Republic, being a socially-oriented sector.
